We aim at identifying patterns in the species distribution, abundance,
and richness, and the development of models that explain these patterns.
For this purpose, we use a set of tools for the analysis of
environmental and biological parameters. This group covers several lines
of research in species well-adapted to the Mediterranean region:

• Ecological modeling in scenarios and global warming
• Past ecological modeling to unfold the species evolution in the past,
• with additional information from geology, fossil remains, and genetic data
• Landscape ecology
• Environmental geostatistics
  • Spatial analysis using GIS
