I am a biologist interested in metal-rich soils and its flora, with a multidisciplinary profile on this subject. I have three children.

During my PhD I have acquired background in the ecology of metal-rich substrates (and specifically ultramafic areas), metal tolerance in plants and plant phylogeography. The Mediterranean shrub Cistus ladanifer was my model organism.

As a PostDoc, I stayed in research centres from Spain and France. There I had the opportunity to work with metal hyperaccumulators and its application on phytoremediation and agromining. Moreover, I had the opportunity to develop research in Borneo, where I studied the flora colonising degraded ultramafic areas and ways to restore their soils.

Currently, I am a Marie Sklodowska-Curie fellow at the University of Vigo. My research is focused on the study of soil biota (bacteria, saprophytic fungi and earthworms) associated to three Casuarinaceae species which colonise ultramafic areas in Borneo.
